Philadelphia Union's Bruno Damiani named Player of the Matchday

Bruno Damiani extended the Philadelphia Union's historic unbeaten streak with a standout performance worthy of MLS Player of the Matchday presented by Michelob ULTRA honors for Matchday 30.

The Uruguayan striker delivered 2g/1a in Wednesday's 3-1 comeback victory at Chicago Fire FC. It was Philly's fifth win of the season after trailing at halftime, a feat achieved by only three teams in the post-shootout era.

The result stretched the Union's unbeaten streak to 14 games, including eight straight wins (12W-0L-2D overall). They're just the third team in the post-shootout era to win eight consecutive regular-season matches.

This is Damiani's second Player of the Matchday award in just over a month; he took home Matchday 25 honors after scoring his first MLS hat trick in a 5-0 rout of FC Cincinnati.

Damiani and the Union will look to continue their record-setting run when hosting Eastern Conference rivals Charlotte FC on Saturday at Subaru Park (2:30 pm ET | Apple TV).

The MLS Player of the Matchday is selected each matchday of the regular season through both media and fan voting in a process conducted by MLS Communications. A panel of journalists from the North American Soccer Reporters (NASR) comprises 75 percent of the vote, while an Instagram fan vote represents the remaining 25 percent of voting. NASR consists of members of print, television, radio and online media.
