Antoine Griezmann & Martín Ojeda dazzle in Orlando City goalfest

Griezmann Sider

Antoine Griezmann and Orlando City show no signs of slowing down.

With the Audi 2026 MLS Cup Playoffs rapidly approaching, the Lions are playing like a team that can not only compete but also make real noise in the postseason.

And with Griezmann scoring twice in Saturday night's 4-1 win over D.C. United, bringing his season total to 12 goals in 14 games since arriving over the summer, there may be no limit to how far they can go.

Griezmann stuns again

Griezmann has been nothing short of brilliant during the second half of 2026. The legendary Frenchman has helped Orlando rapidly climb up the table since the World Cup break, leading the way with 19 total goal contributions (12g/7a).

In Saturday's win, he was at the center of the action. The 2018 FIFA World Cup champion finished off an excellent team sequence to open the scoring in the 15th minute, adding the cherry on top of a quick spell of attacking possession.

Griezmann added an assist seven minutes later, then scored Orlando's third in the second half, capitalizing on a D.C. error while playing out of the back to put the result beyond doubt.

The brace gives Griezmann four goals in his last three games and further solidifies his case for MLS Newcomer of the Year.

Ojeda's world-class goal

While Griezmann will grab plenty of headlines for his brace, Martín Ojeda provided arguably the night's most spectacular moment.

Orlando's all-time leading scorer produced an instant AT&T MLS Goal of the Year candidate, converting an outrageous scorpion kick to double the lead.

The goal was Ojeda’s 15th of the season, continuing another standout campaign for the Argentine midfielder. He’s just one goal shy of matching his career-best total of 16 goals from 2025, and has four games to do it as Orlando chase down a playoff spot.
